Kendell & Associates, LLC and its affiliated companies are part of an international venture banking firm which specializes in providing investment capital, corporate finance, and advisory services. As a sponsoring principal, we invest alongside management, clients and other institutions.
Mark is a purpose-driven serial entrepreneur and runs his family office focusing on direct investments in areas of “true impact.” Very early in his career, he founded Kendell & Associates, LLC, a venture banking firm, specializing in the creation, financing, and operation of a broad spectrum of companies, innovations, and investment opportunities. Since that time, he has provided leadership as an entrepreneur and investor in building new innovative companies and technologies.
Mark as been described as a "gatherer" or "collector" of people. Through this love of people combined with hard work has established a network of family offices, investment banking, merchant banking, corporate development, private equity, and brokerage firms. The firm's record is best described by the people who sat across the table.
When we first met Kendell we had a licence, a prototype, and a distribution plan that didn't survive its first quarter. They didn't just fund the round. They sat in the operating reviews, rewrote that plan with us, and brought in a sales lead from one of their other companies to run it.
Most investors send a cheque and a quarterly email. Kendell sent people. When the time came to sell, they introduced the buyer, negotiated alongside us, and stayed through the close.
We needed a structured debt and equity package to make an acquisition, and every bank we spoke to wanted to syndicate it over four to six months. Kendell went directly to their own investors and closed it in six weeks.
That was the difference between making the acquisition and watching a competitor make it instead. The terms were fair, the paperwork was clean, and nobody wasted our time.
We have co-invested with Kendell on three positions. They ask harder questions than anyone else at the table, and they ask them before the money goes in rather than after. Once the answer holds up, they back it with real capital and people who have actually run companies. That combination is rarer than it should be.
